In honor of Black Tech month, we’re putting a spotlight on a fantastic organization and community within the tech world that centers on the Black women that continue to push it further. None other than Black Women Talk Tech.

The founders of Black Women Talk Tech are entrepreneurs and tech founders in their own right. Esosa Ighodaro is the founder of Nexstar, a platform created to use algorithms to automate influencer campaigns at scale. The objective helps beauty, travel, and food influencers specifically reach a larger multicultural audience through campaigns created by the platform. Regina Gwynn is the founder of TresseNoire, a beauty tech startup made for women with textured hair by assigning a virtual beauty coach that will create a beauty regimen in accordance with their personalized hair profile. These women have had their fair share of struggles and achievements within the tech industry and wanted to gather a small group of colleagues to discuss, unwind, and glean from one another. What was supposed to be a meeting of 30 people became a waiting list of hundreds! Yes, hundreds of women sought community within the tech industry and the demand for a community is one that Regina and Esosa took upon themselves to create Black Women Tech Talk. The organization was founded in 2017 and has not abandoned its roots. The organization still has monthly sessions to simply talk with a guest in the industry, this month’s guests are catalysts from GA Tech’s Advanced Technology Development Center. Exciting, right? Now, let’s get to it, the objective of Black Women Talk Tech is to create a community where Black women tech founders are seen, heard, and supported in business and relational endeavors. The community is not without resources as their weekly newsletter provides subscribers with access to:

· Entrepreneurial and Leadership Workshops featuring titans in the tech industry

· Funding Opportunities

· Employment Listings

· Scholarships and Internship Listings for High School and College Students

· The Latest Updates in Black Tech

· The Annual Roadmap to Billions Conference!

The Roadmap to Billions Conference is Black Women Talk Tech’s annual two-day conference made by Black women tech founders FOR Black women tech founders. This year’s conference will be held virtually from August 12–13. Though the conference may be online, it doesn’t mean you expect anything less than greatness. Black Women Talk Tech celebrates 5 years this year and the conference will be jam-packed with networking and breakout sessions, virtual keynotes, showcases, cash prizes, and tech awards all dedicated to the development and progression of Black women tech founders and their companies!

Today, we salute Esosa, Regina, and Black Women Talk Tech for the community built, the companies created, and the lives improved because of their work in the tech world!
